Covergirl Nailslicks "Midnight Forest"

Good day, girls!

Hope your Monday is going well ;) Up here it's cold and stormy today, so I'll cosy up inside with lit candles, green tea and soft music!

Let me present to you Covergirl Nailslicks "Midnight Forest".
This is a dusty dark goldish green with shimmer, which is mostly visible in direct sunlight/lamplight.

Close up...

I'm quite enjoying this shade, although it can look a little dull when inside. Application was very good, I had no problems at all. I believe I used three coats in the above images. This was my first Covergirl polish, and I wasn't disappointed ;)

On a side note - my nails are a big hot mess right now. Very weak and brittle, they break and peel constantly and have lots of ridges, hence why they are so short at the moment...  :(
I'm working on it though, I'm bathing them (ok, slight exaggeration ;)) in CND Solar Oil, which I love, and I'm also using Nailtek Foundation II and Orly Nail Armor as my basecoats. I'm considering buying OPI Nail Envy and try out that one as well, do you guys have any inputs or other product suggestions that might help?

Hope you've enjoyed your stay, thanks for dropping by ;))

Hey, girl! This is a great np. I love it!
I used to use Nail Envy and I didn't really like it. I used Nailtek II as well and it really stained my nails. I have started using Rock Hard basecoat (found at Sally's) and it's working pretty good so far. I have heard that Nail Magic is really good too. If I don't end up liking Rock Hard I think I might move towards that one.
You lucky girl, at home all cosy! I am jealous!

You nails look great! Such a perfect length&shape!:)

I'm currently using Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle (for about 5 months) - can't say anything bad about it, no problems at all - no peeling, nails are super strong, however ridges are still here.

Have Nailtek Foundation II in my stash, used it once, didn't like the application - too "liquidy-messy". :/ Decided to try Poshe range. Can't wait for my order from 8ty8!:)

You have a very beautiful nail shape. Short nails are so sexy. :)

So many bases are available and I suppose that what is working on a girl, doesn't work on an other and vice-versa! Personally when it comes to top coat, I hate Seche vite! Anyway, as a base, I use OPI Start to Finish for some months now and I am happy with it. It protect the nail very well. As I'm running out of it, I've bought China Glaze Strong adhesion base coat. I wanted to test it. I haven't tried it yet, though!

Hi girls! Sorry for late response; life and all that, ya know...

Nessa:
I guess it's all about trial and error ;) I'll keep your suggestions in mind - thanks!

HeavenNRJ:
Thank you for the compliment! Although personally I prefer them longer ;) All of this house renovating has certainly taken its toll on my nails, but I guess it will be all worth it when we are all done... which will probably be sometime around 2025 or so ;))

Natalie:
Thanks girl!
I think you are right - most stuff work different for different persons. I personally love Seche Vite, but there's definitely a learning curve before mastering application of it, at least it was for me. I really like Poshe as well, it takes a little longer to dry the polish, but on the other hand it doesn't contain Formaldehyde, Toluene or Nitrocellulose - which I think is awesome ;)
Which top coat are you wearing now?
I'm curious about China Glaze Strong adhesion base coat, let me know how you like it if you decide to give it a try.

Hi Nehs:
Long time - thanks for stopping by!
